Nebraska Health Care Association (NHCA) announced that Kristin Harris, Vice President of Operations for Nye Health Services, has been chosen by American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) as a national, future leader in long-term and post-acute care. Harris will join AHCA/NCAL’s Future Leaders program. The year-long program offers training and guidance to industry professionals.

As Vice President of Operations for Nye Health Services, Harris is responsible for company operations and outcomes including financial, clinical, legal, team member engagement, and customer experience. She is a board-certified nurse executive and has worked as a Director of Nursing and Administrator in independent living, assisted living, short-term rehabilitation, and long-term care.
AHCA/NCAL Future Leaders Program
AHCA/NCAL developed the Future Leaders program in 2004. Selected participants demonstrate both leadership potential and represent the interests of the state and national long-term care providers. The program covers the latest theories and practical applications in quality management, customer satisfaction, and leadership. The year-long program kicks off with the Future Leaders of Long Term Care in America Symposium held each year in Washington, D.C.

Nye Health Services is proud to announce that Dr. Matthew Beacom is joining the Nye Health Services team. Effective September 1, Dr. Beacom will become Medical Director for our campuses in Fremont, Norfolk, and Lincoln as well as Nye Home Health Care.

Dr. Beacom and his team will continue to provide medical services to the patients of Beacom Health Clinic. Dr. Beacom is also currently serving as Medical Director for a national hospice program. He is also the Director of Rural Health for the College of Public Health, as part of his duties with the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Nye Health Services is celebrating Lynette Winter and her 40 years of service at Nye Pointe in Fremont, NE. Nette started with Nye Health Services in 1982 as a Medication Aide. While many things have changed over the years, her commitment to providing excellent care to the residents has always been the same.
Celebrating 40 Years of Care and Compassion
In 2005, Nette was awarded the NHCA Direct Care Staff Award for her leadership and dedication to the residents and team members. She was also the team leader for the Eden Journey program from 2005 to 2015. Today, Nette continues to grow professionally by leading the Mentor program for the Medication Aides. When we asked Nette what her favorite part of the job was, she smiled and said, “Working with the residents and getting to know them along with their families!”
Her team members will tell you, from her easy laugh and gentle and caring demeanor to her knowledge of her job and the residents she cares for, she’s the best!

Nye Health Services announces an increase of its wage scale for direct care staff effective immediately. This includes an increase in the starting wage by 30 percent. This $640,000 annual wage adjustment for our five campuses reflects changing market pressures on wages but more importantly, recognizes our committed and dedicated team members who have been warriors during the last two years of fighting Covid on our campuses.
“Our Team Members are our most important asset! We have a staff of talented team members who have risen to the challenges of the past two years. Their commitment in the face of unprecedented circumstances has allowed our Nye campuses to continue to deliver exemplary care to our residents,” states Russ Peterson, CEO of Nye Health Services.
Nye Health Services Increases Starting Wage By 30 Percent; Implements A Higher Wage Scale; And Expands Benefit Coverage For Team Members
In addition to the wage scale increases, Nye Health Services also has made a $50,000 investment to minimize the impact of rising healthcare insurance costs on our team members. Nye has committed to cover the increased costs of team member health insurance premiums for 2022. Other benefits include paid time off for Covid absences in addition to standard paid time off benefits, an Employee Assistance Plan, and Crisis Fund to assist employees through difficult times.

The Meadows is excited to welcome Christy Lee as their new executive director. Christy comes to The Meadows with over 29 years of experience in social services serving the Norfolk, Nebraska community. Christy has gained management experience in hospital, non-profit, and medical clinic settings throughout her career. Christy shared, “I am so excited to join The Meadows team as the executive director. I am looking forward to providing exceptional service to the seniors in our community and creating an outstanding work environment for our team members!”

Nye Square is excited to welcome Brooke Belina as their new executive director. Brooke comes to Nye Square with extensive industry experience, from her first job as a CNA to her most recent position as the Executive Director of a Continuum of Care Facility. Kristin Harris, VP of Operations, shares “Brooke’s depth of experience in the senior health care industry allows her to lead our campus with a complete understanding of our community and the needs of our residents. We are confident that her passionate and personalized management style, along with her joyful and spirited personality, will allow her to continue the success that has been created at Nye Square.”
Brooke was born and raised on a farm in Arlington, Nebraska and graduated from Arlington High School. She received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Wayne State College and her Master’s in Gerontology and Mental Health from Concordia University. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two young daughters on her family’s farm.
Brooke shared, “My whole life, I have been passionate about providing exceptional services to seniors. I am excited to join the Nye Square team as the executive director and develop strong relationships with our residents.”
