FREMONT, NE — Nye Square, part of Nye Health Services, is pleased to announce the launch of its new SPEAK OUT!® Class, a specialized speech therapy program designed to support individuals living with Parkinson’s disease and related neurological conditions in maintaining and improving their communication and swallowing abilities. The program is led through Nye Therapy & Wellness, which provides a dedicated speech-language pathologist at each campus to ensure consistent, person-centered care across the continuum of services. At Nye Square, the SPEAK OUT!® program is facilitated by Jessica Gillen, a licensed SPEAK OUT!® Provider with Nye Therapy & Wellness. Under her clinical guidance, participants engage in structured voice and speech exercises designed to strengthen communication skills and improve quality of life.
Developed by the Parkinson Voice Project, the SPEAK OUT!® Therapy Program combines education, individualized speech therapy, SPEAK OUT!® group classes, daily home practice, and ongoing follow-up care. The goal is to help individuals with Parkinson’s and related disorders regain and retain their speech and swallowing function for life.
“Up to 90% of people with Parkinson’s are at risk of losing their ability to speak. In addition, swallowing complications account for 70% of the mortality rate in this patient population. Our vision at Parkinson Voice Project is to make quality speech therapy accessible to people with Parkinson’s worldwide,” said Samantha Elandary, Parkinson Voice Project’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer.
In addition to the SPEAK OUT!® Class, Nye Square also hosts a monthly Parkinson’s Support Group, offering a welcoming environment for individuals and families to share experiences, resources, and encouragement. “This program is about restoring confidence in communication,” said Gillen. “Speech is essential to connection, independence, and dignity, and SPEAK OUT!® gives participants the tools to maintain those abilities long-term.”
The SPEAK OUT!® Class is free and open to the community, reinforcing Nye Health Services’ commitment to accessible, high-quality care and community engagement. For more information about the weekly SPEAK OUT!® Class in Fremont, please call 402-753-6130.

Independent and Assisted Living at Nye Square
At Nye Square, we offer the freedom and lifestyle of Independent Living, along with the added support and safety of Assisted Living when needed. It’s a welcoming place where seniors can live life on their terms, with access to wellness programs, delicious dining, and a strong sense of community.
Just ask Ralph, a proud Nye Square resident:
“Everything here at Nye Square is clean, and the team members are so friendly and helpful! I get to exercise at the wellness center four times a week, which allows me to continue to stay active and healthy. The food is excellent, especially on Tasty Tuesdays! Meal time gives me a social aspect and a true sense of community.”
Our focus at Nye Square is helping residents stay active, connected, and independent, while also providing the care they need when they need it.
Short Stay Rehabilitation and Respite Care at Nye Legacy and Nye Pointe
After surgery, illness, or hospitalization, many individuals need a place to recover before safely returning home. That’s where Nye Legacy comes in. We provide expert short-stay rehabilitation services and respite care, supported by a compassionate team of nurses, therapists, and caregivers.

Vern, a short-stay rehab guest at Nye Legacy, shared: “Nye Legacy feels like a second home when you need one. Everyone here is absolutely wonderful.”
We aim to not only help people regain strength and independence but also make them feel truly cared for, like family.

For those needing long-term or complex medical care, Nye Pointe and Nye Legacy provide exceptional skilled nursing services in a warm, homelike environment. Our dedicated team is there 24/7 to support residents’ health and quality of life, while still encouraging joy, engagement, and friendships.
And few friendships are as special as the one between Lois and Lois, two Nye Pointe residents:
“Since moving to Nye Pointe, I’ve found such a wonderful friend in another Lois! We laugh together every day, and it’s those little joyful moments that make this place feel like home. There’s something special about sharing stories, smiles, and friendship, it really lifts your spirit.”
Lois, a resident at Nye Pointe, shared:
Nye Pointe is a place where clinical excellence meets personal connection, and that makes all the difference.
Additional Services: Home Health and Outpatient Therapy
Beyond our campuses, Nye also offers Home Health Care, bringing skilled nursing, therapy, and support directly into people’s homes. And for those focused on recovery or maintaining strength, our Outpatient Therapy and Aquatic Therapy services are available to the greater Fremont community.
This comprehensive approach means that no matter where someone is in their journey, Nye is there to support them with flexibility, continuity, and care that’s centered on the individual. Thank You, Fremont!
