Hospitality and care for seniors are the heart of Nye Health Services. As the demand for senior care continues to grow, the availability of skilled professionals to meet that demand is decreasing. The senior care industry is facing a significant workforce shortage, and Nye Health Services is taking action to address this issue.
Join Nye Health Services as a Hospitality Attendant / Caregiver and Make a Difference in Senior Care
As a provider of personalized care and exceptional service, Nye Health Services is committed to creating safe, comfortable, and homelike environments for its residents. Through innovative leadership and a team of highly skilled professionals, Nye Health Services is dedicated to reinventing services and experiences to deliver the best options and choices to those they serve.
To continue their mission of providing exceptional care, Nye Health Services has introduced a new role within Nye Legacy. This role is designed to provide non-nursing, non-direct resident care duties. Working side-by-side with licensed nursing staff, the successful candidate will help with TV, telephone, personal items, blankets, pillows, food trays or snacks, and refilling water/ice.
Addressing Labor Shortages in the Senior Care Industry
The senior care industry is projected to grow by 21% from 2019 to 2029, adding nearly 2.5 million new jobs. However, the labor force is not keeping pace with this demand. By 2025, the industry is expected to face a shortage of over 446,000 direct care workers. Nye Health Services is taking proactive steps to address this issue by offering this new position, which requires a compassionate heart and a willingness to serve rather than a specific certification or degree.
About the New Role at Nye Health Services
This new role (Hospitality Attendant / Caregiver) is an opportunity for compassionate individuals to make a meaningful impact on the lives of seniors. The position does not require a license or certification, but a smile and a big heart are a must!
This position is also a stepping stone for individuals seeking work experience in healthcare and an opportunity to grow their careers. Interested individuals may use in-house education opportunities and a $3,000 tuition reimbursement annually to help them reach their career goals. “We see this as a great opportunity for passionate, caring individuals to get their foot in the door as early as high school and grow their career while minimizing the debt they take on”, says Mollie Cook, Director of Human Resources.
Apply Today!
Nye Health Services is currently taking applications for both full and part-time roles for both day and evening shifts. This year, National Assisted Living Week (NALW) is celebrated the week of September 11-17. The purpose of NALW is to recognize the efforts of those working in assisted living communities and to spread awareness about what these communities offer. This year’s theme is Joyful Moments.
Ideas to Celebrate National Assisted Living Week
Throughout the week, our Nye Health Services campuses will have special events and activities. If you have a loved one living in an assisted living community, this is a great time to visit them. If you don’t have a personal connection to an assisted living community, you can still participate in National Assisted Living Week by spreading the word about all the positive ways an assisted living community enhances the lives of those who live in them. Here are some fun activities and ideas to consider, so you can join in the festivities and show your support for assisted living facility residents and staff members.
1. Make a Card or Letter
Make a card or write a letter expressing your gratitude for everything staff members do for assisted living residents every day. You can drop it off at our campus or mail it to one of the campuses directly.
2. Give Flowers or Baked Goods
Give flowers or baked goods to assisted living team members to say thank you. If you have a neighbor or family member who lives in an assisted living community, you could also bring them a treat!
3. Schedule a Tour
If you or a loved one are considering assisted living services, call to schedule a tour! Our team members would love to show you around our campuses.
4. #AssistedLivingWeek
Spread the word about all the great things happening at assisted living communities during National Assisted Living Week by sharing this blog post on social media using the hashtag #AssistedLivingWeek.
5. Challenge Yourself
Challenge yourself (or someone you know) to learn something new this week! Take an online cooking class, start learning a new language, or pick up a new hobby. One of the best things about growing older is that it’s never too late to learn something new!
No matter how you choose to celebrate, we hope that you’ll join us in celebrating National Assisted Living Week. Assisted living communities and staff members provide essential services and support to seniors across the country. National Assisted Living Week is our chance to show our appreciation for all they do. Let’s show our support and join in the festivities!
