Russ Peterson, Founder and CEO of Nye Health Services, was presented with the Nebraska Health Care Foundation Jack Vetter Humanitarian Award at the Annual Nebraska Nursing Facility Association (NNFA)–Nebraska Assisted Living Association Convention (NALA) on August 26.
The award honors an individual who has given selflessly and worked tirelessly in support of Nebraska’s health care professionals and their commitment to providing high-quality care.
Peterson was recognized for his service on the Nebraska Health Care Foundation Board of Directors since its inception nearly 40 years ago. Thanks to his vision, the Foundation continues to support the long-term care profession through scholarships, training programs, educational grants, emergency relief, and workforce pipeline initiatives.
Peterson sponsors an annual Congressional Briefing Scholarship allowing direct care team members to travel to Washington, D.C. to share their stories on Capitol Hill. He is a respected leader who uses his local, state, and national relationships to move the profession forward.
