Covid-19 Vaccine Update from Nye Health Services VP of Operations, Kristin Harris
We have received updates and timelines specific to the Covid-19 vaccine distribution plan from our pharmacy partner. The pharmacy staff will provide and administer the vaccines to all residents and team members who have consented to receive the vaccine. The pharmacy anticipates scheduling vaccine clinics for our residents and team members the week of 12/28/20. We will not know the specific date and time of the vaccine clinic until next week.
We know that there may be hesitancy about receiving the vaccine, but we are trusting the science and encourage participation to get us one step closer to hugs, singing and celebrations. We have attached multiple documents from our pharmacy for your review:
- Why Should I Choose to Receive the Covid-19 Vaccine?
- Questions & Answers About the Covid-19 Vaccine for Staff, Residents and Family Members
- Fact Sheet for Recipients and Caregivers: Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) of the Pfizer-Biontech Covid-19 Vaccine to Prevent Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) in Individuals 16 Years of Age and Older
In order to ensure we are in compliance with the State Vaccine Plan, we have specific requirements that must be met in order to receive a vaccine, including obtaining verbal or written consent for every individual. Our team will be reaching out to the resident’s Responsible Party via phone to review the consent form.
This is definitely a hopeful time and reason to celebrate during the holiday season, but please be aware that our current guidelines including wearing face masks and personal protective equipment, social distancing and visitation processes will not change upon receipt of this vaccine without further guidance from the Department of Health and Human Services.
If you have questions, please contact the campus administration directly or send your questions to our COVID email: covid@nyehealthservices.com.
