INDEPENDENT/ASSISTED LIVING

What makes Gateway Vista unique?

Gateway Vista is unique in the Lincoln area because it offers a full-continuum of services from independent retirement living to Medicare-certified skilled nursing care all on one campus. This allows us to best care for the individual needs of those we serve.

What is an Assisted Living Facility?

Assisted Living Facilities provide supervision or assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs); coordination of services by outside healthcare providers; and monitoring of resident activities to help ensure their health, safety, and well-being.

Will my suite be furnished?

No. Our apartments are unfurnished allowing you to bring your personal furnishings and treasures to make your home your own.

Will I be able to entertain guests?

Absolutely. Gateway Vista has several community areas available to you for use with your family and friends including; Dining Rooms, Billiards Game area, Library, Meditation Room, Beauty/Barber Shop, Penthouse and Auditorium.

Can I keep my car?

Certainly. Detached garages are available for rent on a monthly basis. There is also ample surface parking space. 

Are allowances made for vacationing residents?

Yes. Beginning on day eight of your vacation, you will not be charged the daily care level rate until you return.

Does Medicare/Medicaid or private insurance pay for my apartment?

Medicare does not cover the cost of assisted living apartments. However, Medicaid and some private insurance policies may provide coverage. We are happy to help you evaluate your individual policy and options.

What happens when I need more care?

If a higher level of care is needed, we will help you make this transition. Gateway Vista offers assisted living right in the comfort of your own apartment. Also, persons living here have first priority in our rehabilitation and skilled nursing tower.

Does Medicare/Medicaid or private insurance pay for my stay?

Medicare may cover some of the cost associated with your short-term stay, provided you meet the Medicare requirements. This includes a three-night stay in the hospital and the need for daily skilled services. Medicaid will pay for long-term care if you meet the financial and care criteria. Long-term care insurance policies may also provide coverage depending on your level of care and insurance policy criteria. Our staff is available to help you evaluate all your options.

Will my suite be furnished?

Yes. Our suites include a bed, night stand, chair, and TV. You are encouraged to personalize your room with your own treasures.

Will I be able to entertain guests?

Absolutely. Gateway Vista has several community areas available to you for use with your family and friends including; Dining Rooms, Billiards Game area, Library, Meditation Room, Beauty/Barber Shop, Penthouse and Auditorium.

Am I responsible for household insurance?

Gateway Vista provides insurance for the building structure and common areas. We do not cover your personal belonging and recommend you obtain renter’s insurance for your personal property.

What happens if I no longer need skilled care?

Gateway Vista has an interdisciplinary discharge team that will assist you in creating a successful discharge plan to best meet your needs and level of care. Gateway Vista also has assisted and independent living options available to you.
